It's the story of an adventurous young mermaid, Ariel, who dreams of the world above the sea and who has a thing for disobeying the rules and following her heart. Her fascination with the human world often leads her to the sea surface, much to the dismay of her father Triton, the sea king. One day while sneaking to the surface, Ariel witnesses a shipwreck and rescues Prince Eric, with whom she become instantly smitten. Furious at Triton’s inability to understand her love for the prince, Ariel runs away and bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.
